James M. Thompson is an Aeronautical Engineer and a retired Air Force officer who loves to write science fiction and fantasy, but also covers other genres. During his Air Force career he served as an engineer on the Titan III space booster development program and as Air Force project officer on NASA's Space Shuttle program. Now fully retired, Jim has been writing seriously for several years. Several of his short stories have been published, and he has won awards in short story contests.
His science fiction is more science than fiction. You won't find any three-headed people or a lot of magic spells, but you will find good stories that move along at a swift pace. His dialog has been described as movie script quality, and his descriptions bring you all the sights, sounds, and smells of the scene.
